Where Did January Go

here are some updates from the past weeks:

*i wasn't able to go to Sey's despedida party with the rest of my high school friends :( so this movie night at our house turned out to be my last bonding time with him. he's my long lost twin brother :( he needs to stay in Singapore for 2 yrs for a military training for his citizenship there. we miss him already and we're planning to visit him this summer! SANA MATULOY! ;)

*unplanned pizza treat with Rd, Justin, Ate Meanne, Zaint, Joyjoy, and Chuchay after the first sunday service of the year

*our church's annual Prayer & Fasting. i stayed home all week and spent one of my sweetest time with the Lord :)

*sunday of that week, i finally showed up to my youth family! did some catching up with Allane & Herna, then rushed to Ate Joan's place for a quick but fun chitchat with her and the [incomplete] gang.

*the next day is our first prayerwatch after the vacation! it was unforgettable! :">
headed straight to my Tita's house after, balik tutor! i hate to admit it but i've missed the two crazy kiddoes! (who spend more time playing instead of listening to me. hahaha. these pictures attest to that!)

(that same week i re-read and finished The Hunger Games' first installment. this book-repeating is becoming a habit so i gotta buy new ones already! D:)

*friday, we had our Workers' General Assembly! as usual, i did my own makeup and twin worked on my hair. i always go for a simple look every WGA. (i actually wore pants the first year i attended. hahaha. #likeaboss! :)))))

*saturday, dahil nga christmas break is over, balik na rin ang meeting with the MMR team for the upcoming National Youth Camp. i was too exhausted that day i missed two important parties :(

*sunday, we had a mini shoot for the official teaser of the said NYC.

went to Justin's house after for Cess's birthday celebration. we got addicted to Pinoy Henyo. yun lang.

*3rd week i decided to stop with my tutoring sideline since i'll be out most days of the week. first two days i worked on the teaser. im not a pro so it really takes me days to finish a very short video! haha. what i originally made was 3minutelong and i showed it to Tita Mel (our ministry head) and she said i have to change the background song to something more upbeat and shorten it to at least a minute. i revised it and here's the result! im pretty happy about it ;) to God be the glory! <3 (i made 2 other vids, you can check 'em on vimeo)

*wednesday, we went to Divisoria to buy shirts and some other stuff for the camp. we had our brunchienda at Manila Bulletin's cafeteria in Intramuros, wow-ed at the beautiful sunset on our ride back and stayed at Info Center for a while before we went home.

*friday, we launched our new youth fellowship sched and theme, Chill Out Night every 3rd week of the month. we had guests from different ministries, one being my girlfriend Nikki! they sung 3 songs and this one's my favorite, their version of Jayeslee's Dare You To Move (orig. by switchfoot). sorry that's me singing in the background! hahaha.

the room was jam-packed and spirit-filled all night! answered prayer! everyone's happy and excited for the next fridays to come! :) right after that, we went to Metrogate Dasma for Tita Pearl's (our friend Jerich's mom) 50th birthday party!

*and for some reason i dont want to share, i barely slept that night. which brings us to satur-zombie-day. meeting in the morning and backed up for chanelle for the ifugao mission p&f/anointing. bagsak ako ng bongga pag-uwi. my first in a long time to sleep early, and for 10 hours pa! SARAP! sunday, i went back to Lalaan after weeks of rest and was so glad to see the MNHS students! :)

that's it! the days in between are comprised of mostly meetings at kung ano ano pa. ako na ang bum na busybusyhan! :P

last sunday's message from pastor leonard albert reminded me of a thing i've always wanted to share but fail to remember. (mild amnesia, sorry.) the very first time i've read this i told myself i should live my life as noble as this woman king lemuel is talking about.

Proverbs 31: 10 - 12, 14 - 15, 18, 20, 25 - 31 (mix of NIV and MSG)

A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds. Her husband trusts her without reserve, and never has reason to regret it. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places and brings back exotic surprises. She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast for her family and organizing her day. She senses the worth of her work, is in no hurry to call it quits for the day. She's quick to assist anyone in need, reaches out to help the poor. She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she always faces tomorrow with a smile. When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say, and she always says it kindly. She keeps an eye on everyone in her household, and keeps them all busy and productive. i want to leave a legacy of a life on fire for Jesus, motivated by God's spirit, guided by His Word. a living testimony of His unrelenting love & grace. i want to be remembered as a woman after God's own heart. and i know im not even a tad bit close! hehe. but i believe God will never get tired of working His way in me :) i want that emphasized line to be written as my epitaph, but then i'd rather let the family & friends i'll be leaving to decide on that! hahaha ;)

Do Yourself A Favor and Just Be Nice

"It might sound as sad as it already, I was scrolling through facebook on a Friday night for my lack of anything interesting to do. And in these times, beyond the sadness of the act, I find It amazing what social media can provide you when you least expect it. To my downright obliviousness about everyone’s business lately, I was pretty psyched to find myself fixed on a happy picture posted a few hours earlier from a friend who just got married. It’s one of the images from their wedding ceremony and she looked amazing for her happiest moment yet. I was smiling while looking at the picture as she was smiling inside her veil while holding her man and for a good five minutes, I just stared at the new couple’s irrefutable bliss before I managed a one liner on the comment. I cried a little while typing it down. Can’t believe I did.

It’s one of those gifts of facebook or whatever social media you’re in that connects you to everybody else – it gives you a snapshot of what else is going on lately about someone without having the need to ask them. But on second thought, it was all just a snapshot. And even if a picture can mean a thousand words, sometimes it can only halfway describe someone. Applicable to any posts.

Realizing that the friend who I used to hang out a lot just got married without me knowing it prior, my head went into binge thinking about what else am I missing about those folks I once shared good moments of my life with? For some cosmic inspiration, names of people from all episodes of life came into the list of whatever-happened-to frenzy. Some, I was fortunate enough to stalk on facebook and realize she just got a baby, and then there’s this one guy who’s now working somewhere and feeling big time. Proud of you man. Oh the girl who broke up with a longtime lover and loathing all over her timeline. We all have someone like that on our connection, don’t we? And this man whose most interesting update is a photo with his glorified milk tea and with his ray ban’s on. All these updates, sometimes it can be helpful and sometimes you wish you never knew. But how about those we will never know about. The ones that I remembered that are not on my facebook, seriously what happened to you? Where are these folks?

I’m not sure about the statistics here but on a more conservative estimate, we probably meet more than a thousand people in our lives. Some by passing and some of them, gladly we had a chance to invest some good times with. It’s crazy to think that we can keep all of them, especially the ones we like the most and the ones we love but unhappily, it won’t always turn out that way. Some relationships are not meant to last. I remember having my first best friend in kindergarten. Dude, that kid was the best. He was from a rich family. He was very kind. And we got along so well. It was one of those things you wish as a kid you could keep. I still wish to this day. We were best mates in kinder every step of the way. But sadly, when the school year ended, we never heard from each other again. Too bad facebook wasn’t invented for us then. So yeah, from time to time when I’m reminded of him, wherever that guy maybe, I still wish him all the best. Same thing as adults, and one thing that I had difficulty learning years back, that as much as we want someone to play an integral part in our story, sometimes we have to accept that some people are written for a different book. I’ve come to realize of late that even the people you wish you could grow old with won’t always be there to actually see you grow old. And the ones you shared road trips to the beach will probably not be the same group you will be road tripping in the next five years. Some relationships are meant to change, meant to evolve, for growth, for life. And we all have to be mature enough to accept that well yeah, some people really need to leave. And when it’s time for them to go, it is none of our business to hold them back.

So think about this, majority of the people we meet are only passing. Most of them we met for a limited time with a purpose. And if you think about the idea that not everyone is meant to stay anyway, why spend all your time hating on someone who you knew is never gonna be an integral part of you? Maybe it’s a coworker you dislike so much, or an acquaintance you cannot ever understand or someone from where you buy your dog food that is always rude. I mean if we think about it, why not just enjoy all these encounters and experience with the people you meet? Don’t take any bad things they brought along personally. Learn from the fact that everyone is not like you and thank God everyone is not like you. So if you have someone you hate, think forward. Would her annoying fashion make sense to you in the bigger future? Would his rude gesture matter someday anyway? Will you take his bad treatment of you personally and bare the grudge for who knows how long or just take it maturely and move on? Some people come and just go. And when you think of those people who already went on, isn’t it nice to realize that it was fun knowing him or her all along in spite of. Learn from anyone, from everyone. Respect who they once were to you no matter what and move on.

And lastly, people come into your life for a purpose. And sometimes those purposes are way bigger than we can imagine. Maybe you don’t even know it yet, but just by someone being able to know you, you helped them realized a dream they couldn’t realize for themselves. Or just by being an encouragement in any way you can, you were able to provide healing and comfort. Think about this, you have a lifetime of opportunity to meet people. It doesn’t matter anymore who stays or who goes, but wouldn’t it be nice, that when they are reminded of your name, whenever, wherever, they can only think beautiful thoughts of you.

Wouldn’t it be nice, that when someone accidentally scroll through a facebook picture of you, or just remembered you from somewhere, hate towards you would not even be an option but a whisper of gratitude to the Master Creator who brought you into their lives once upon a time?

Isn’t it nice to be someone who is always nice to someone?

*i just filled two pages of my journal with realizations and insights after reading this. i wish & pray i'll be as sincerely nice and pure hearted as this guy. we need more Simon's in the world today! :) *

finished reading this in two days.

it's the kind of book that gets you hooked from the very first chapter!

It's A Wrap!

i know this is cliche, but i really want a year ender blog post :P
(i've said this before, and im gonna say it again: im not a writer, so bear with me. expect jumping from one topic to another with no connections at all, stuff like that. haha)

every time a new year enters, i always decide on a theme for it, CHANGE being 2011's. and boy do i lived up to that word all throughout the year! first and foremost, physically. no friends, i still haven't gained weight. im still as skinny as that human stick on the cover of Appeton. good news is i've finally let my hair grow long. ang babaw ko lang sorry. pero accomplishment kasi talaga to sakin dahil lagi akong short hair :P

i hate having the same hair style with people around me but i have 'hair goals' anobayan! haha. lemme give you an idea ;)

long way to go, eh? ;)

in terms of relationships, i've also had major ~~changes~~ adjustments. i've gotten too attached with some people and in the long run realized they're not growing into healthy friendships so we had to start all over again. and now treasuring them more than ever :) i dealt with issues of trying to fix people just because i care for them too much but i did the wrong approach, so i ended up being disappointed. i've learned that no matter how often you remind a person of what and what not to do, no matter how many 'i've been there' stories you share, unless they are willing (which is a way for them to experience God's personal touch), it'll be hard work i tell you. these are the times i was reminded of how powerful prayer is. of how comforting it is that i have a Rescuer up there in heaven and here, inside me, the Holy Spirit ;) it has also been a year of refining -- attitude, perspective in life, zeal and fervor in the ministry, etc. i got off track for a little while, being the stubborn kid that i am, but eventually found my way back into His arms again. God also dealt with my selfishness. i was told: 'beloved, can you for once stop thinking about yourself and listen to My hurt, My pain, share My joy, and tend to My people?'. i got all worked up with myself and it stopped me from growing. i discovered how weak i am. i may have looked tough and strong all those time but they're all pretenses. fragile strength is how i call it. im my own worst enemy. i always try to be a better version of myself, which is not bad naman, but that's not how He sees progress. God doesn't want me improved, but transformed into His own image, day by day. it's not just about letting go of old habits and enforcing new ones, of setting rules and limits. it's about dying to myself daily. at the end of each day, carrying a new hope to do a lot better the next day, i share with David's prayer: 'when i awake, i will be satisfied in seeing Your likeness..' (Psalm 17:15) now im still not strong. if you think that i am, it's the Lord ;)

during the last quarter of the year, God kept on revealing His personality to me as a refuge, a mighty fortress. im amazed at how often He speaks to me through His Word, at the nearness of His presence. if i could stay in this state forever, i would. but i know this season shall come to pass. and He's preparing me for the coming storms and battles. i shared this with a friend before. sabi ko, it's kind of freaking me out that He always remind me that in Him im safe, na parang may katakot-takot na problema akong dapat abangan :)))) but i chose to shrug the negativities off and just be excited! for whatever happens, i am rest assured that in the midst of the world's noise and buzz, at His feet is the only quiet, secure place ;) aligned with this is the verse for 2012 He gave me:

Ephesians 3: 20 msg

"God can do anything, you know, far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around, but by working within us, His spirit deeply and gently within us."

i believe He has so many things in store for me next year. and this is His promise that im gonna inscribe in my heart and mind. He is ABLE, He is LIMITLESS, if He wants it done, it'll happen. i have no idea how he's gonna do it, but i know He will. the latter part of the verse said He does it not by forcing us to hurry, get this or that, grab that opportunity, blah blah, go lang ng go. no. He does it by working gently within us, stirring up the passion He has planted in us from the very start, causing us to act on it, and fulfilling it for us. He's that gracious! He's that loving! He's both the dream-giver and the dream-fulfiller! i've so many plans for next year -- travel, take up a new course, get a job, join missions, etc. the list goes on. i don't want to stop moving, because the word says 'we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit..' (Romans 5:5 msg) so this will be my way of giving back. with all the best i can.
but just this month, our family received a news that'll make a sudden turn in our lives. it proves how life is filled with much uncertainties, of how God doesn't want us to settle on top, to remind us that He's still in charge, and we shouldn't be complacent. the months when He lavished me with love and wisdom, equipped me with His Word, are preparations pala. i cried buckets already, and it might add up everyday, but i keep on telling myself, when God says He's your refuge, He means it, so hold on to it, especially at this time. He's your safe dwelling place. 'trust Him. He knows what He's doing, and He'll keep on doing it' (1 Peter 4:19 msg). kaya Nya pala ko hinanda, so i won't bombard Him with HOWs and WHYs, instead, i'll put my faith on Him, fully. trust requires unanswered questions. i gotta trust Him even if it doesn't make any sense. 'trust God from the bottom of your heart, don't try to figure out everything on your own.. don't assume you know it all.' (Proverbs 3:5 msg). not everyone in the fam might leave for australia. or, we'd all be staying here, i dont know. my plans are sketches only, always subject to change. His ways shall prevail :) last week we had our first day of national youth camp facilitators' workshop. on our last prayer & worship, God spoke to me ahead regarding this. i always say i want new adventures because my life gets boring sometimes, but the problem with me is, i don't do anything about it and i enjoy lazing around and doing nothing. i learn a lot, yes, but if my life were a movie, it'd be draggy, there'll be too many dead air scenes, you know what i mean? im no fun. no fun at all. and then God repeatedly told me, 'beloved, enjoy the freefall. plunge into the unknown! stop overthinking. where's the thrill on having all my plans laid out in front of you? take heart! 'I am your strength and I will enable you to go on to the heights!' (Habakkuk 3:19 msg) but you gotta jump! i've told you so many times, I am sending you. you have so many excuses. you're an escapist. I need your yes. and I need it now.' man, it's been so long since i cried hard like that. i called it tears of obedience. i was begging Him, telling Him, 'no i can't. i trust you but i gotta have a backup plan in case yours doesn't work. please stop making it hard for me.' (i know, tigas lang ng ulo ko), pero His answer was firm, 'if you love Me, you will obey what I command' (John 14:15). and the rest of the conversation is history hehe. aaaah! such a sweet night with the Lord! i didn't know the next day will shock me to the bones but im glad i was ready :) one song from that night's cantata became my fave tuloy, Love by Chris Tomlin. the lines that struck me the most are these: there is love, there is forgiveness, there is love, in times of need, when life is cold, there is a promise, you could never go without... in this life, no guarantees, but there is Love.. Love is the answer.. Love will find a way.. :)

i must get into agreement with God's Word when He said He can do anything far more than my requests, and receive His promises! with that, i've got a theme for 2012 na: FULFILLED PROMISES! :) God breathed in my direction and supernatural things are going to happen! i claim it! 'God is armed and battle-ready' (Psalm 24:8 msg) and so am i! ;)
but before we step into a new year.. aarte lang muna ko :)))))

last week, tuesday, i went to DV with my littlle sister Zaint. wednesday, i was at Greenhills with my friends Nikki & Allane. i did a little shopping -- bought new tops, cardi, jeans and flats all for 1500! who says i cant haggle? haha.

December's Almost Over

our eldest sister who's living/working in Oman had a week-long vacation here and just left yesterday for Oz to celebrate christmas with mom. we did our usual non-stop conversation til dawn on her first night (saturday) so we slept in the next day. monday we met up with twin at the Ayala Triangle to watch the lights and sounds show everyone's talking about. and we love it! here are some photos: (using Ate's cybershot). i also took a video pero ang likot ko e, wag na lang :))))

we had dinner at Sentro after.

..then made quick stops at some bookstores which are still opened coz it's past 10 already. tuesday & wednesday i had to go back to the kids' house for their monthly exam and i must say my patience was stretched to the nth power, actually napunit na nga! :)))))) it could be due to lack of sleep for staying up late for my avp assignments, but then again, that's not an excuse :| anyway, thursday morning Ate & i wooshed to Bataan. we surprised the grannies and their reactions were priceless! <3 we stayed there til friday. the night before she left (same day as the youth's party) we had a little family bonding at Tita Gi's house :)

oooh before i forget! she got us the Urban Decay Naked Palette! so happpeeehhh! i used to put eye makeup on every time i go out during my first two years in college, (Smokey lagi hehe) but not anymore. i stick with only the eyebrow-pencil-&-mascara look. but who wouldnt want to use this beaut?! the colors look really good & neutral! perfect for moi! ;) it goes with an eye primer and brush. i cant wait to use it!

2 weeks ago i went 'shopping' at my favorite thrift store, (i got most of my clothes & bags there, im the ukay girl, haha.) i like them so much! im not sure if these will appeal to your eyes because i dont have any fashion sense and i dress just the way i want to. haha. basta komportable, go! ;)

other happenings on my first & second week of december:
we celebrated Zaint's birthday at ATC. we were supposed to go to EK but it was raining hard that day so we had to change our plans. we went lazertagging at LazerXtreme, dinner at Shakey's, arcade games at Timezone and sweet treats at Caramia.

their classic gelato flavor, Nocciola, is so far the best ice cream i've tasted in my entire life! i've been there only thrice (twice in ayala, and this one) and im going back for sure! ;)

one tuesday afternoon, as i was preparing to go to MNHS for our weekly fellowship with the students, i was texting with Allane, and we got into a convo about our friend, Ate Mei's, upcoming birthday, and since we're early for our 3pm call time with Ptr. Obet, we decided to do a little surprise for her. we went to the nearest mall and bought the smallest (& cutest) cake we found, and Zagu's hazelnut grande (we thought it's her fave drink and we're short on budget, so yea, haha) we dropped by the COG info center, her new office, and found out she's on lunch break :( we went to church and waited for her in the lobby while fixing our game thingys for MNHS. in the middle of our chikahan, we didnt notice she walked past us already! she was even the first to call us! hahaha. epic fail. we asked her to go back and then we gave her the sweets :) im so glad she liked it! i just love seeing her smile! ;)

Bum No More

so i started with my part-time job 2 weeks ago. it doesn't really feel like a job, because the tutees are my kid cousins. one is in 1st grade, the other in 4th. everyday after school we review the lessons they had for the day, do their homework, and study for quizzes, if there's any. inaaral ko din muna bago ko ituro because my elementary days are aeon years ago you know hahahaha. at first i had a hard time with Erron (G1) coz he never listens, and he's easily distracted. for example i would tell him about getting factors of a number and he would point to my hair, or my clothes,or whatever caught his interest, and ask a lot of annoying questions, or start talking about how funny Gumball is -_-" things like that. but we got around to it for the next couple of days. patience lang talaga at konting gimik, games&study in one, he likes it that way, coz he's the crazy hyper kid type. Gian (G4) is his total opposite, so i let her help me with teaching his brother, and it works. napepressure sya sa sipag ng ate nya! :)))))) they had their exams last week and im glad they got high grades! :) when the kids are in school, it's either i sleep or read, same old routine. haha. i go home every friday, so i only get to see my sisters during weekends.

last week i've been busy with some things. monday morning i did an avp about missions for Kuya Arnel (one of our youth core leaders). afternoon i went back here to make reviewers for the kids' exam and taught them as soon as they got home. and that night, i studied for next day's lesson with the kids in Malabag National High School in Silang. every tuesday, Ptr. Obet and other leaders from Lalaan hold a one hour fellowship with different sections of 3rd & 4th year students after their classes, and we volunteered to help. it's soooo much fun! teaching is not something i see myself doing in my future years (i dont have that gift. and i dont have enough patience haha), but i have to admit im enjoying this!

wednesday i had the chance to go home because tita & the kids are staying in Angono til thursday night. morning i accompanied yaya in doing the groceries. i was supposed to go out that afternoon but i slept in and woke up just in time to prep for the small group leaders' summit with Rev. Mcleod in church. it was truly a night to remember. im just in awe of how connected all His messages are to me these past days. whether it's in the book i read, the songs i sing, the blogs i read, the lessons we share with the kids in mnhs, and that night's message. the 3 keys are with me: the Word, His name, and the Holy Spirit. soon there will be--well actually there is one now--spiritual famine. but you, me, we, are all God's storehouses. we just need to unlock it with the holy keys. before the service ends God spoke to me about the things i need to work on with myself, and esp. the power of His name that i already know of but fail to apply in times when i most need it. i couldn't forget the warmth of His holy embrace while we prayed for the healing of Abbey, our senior pastor's daughter, for the city of dasmarinas, for the philippines, for our families. 'that's what you should be doing', He said, 'i've given you the power to heal, to proclaim victory over the salvation of your family, the healing of your land, the accomplishment of the Generation Blessing building of your church.' He also reminded me of my dreams that have died down. [but praise God a day before i publish this i finally got my groove back! if He were talking to me like any friend does, i picture Him saying something like this, 'it was never part of my plan that you let go of your dreams, you silly!' :P He's cool like that y'know ;)]. activate the keys! let Him breathe again over my [dull and struggling] prayer life. like what dana candler said, 'there is no movement forward without Him'. every good works & service are useless if i fail to go back and tap to The Source. i was refreshed that night. it has been a month of Him telling me to go back to the basics. 'draw back, take a deep breath, and start again.' brian houston said. and again, very apt and timely.
when i got home both sisters were still awake so we finally had the time to catch up with all that's happening, with twin's work, and zain't school. i proceeded to my next task after, the national youth camp online registration. wordpress is such a pain in the behind! hahaha. if not for its built-in forms (meaning i dont have to code, na hindi ko na naman kaya kasi kinalimutan ko na ang programming haha) i would've used blogspot instead. registration is now open so if you and your friends love camps, like me, (and you live in ph) register na! here's the link: http://cognyc2012.wordpress.com and here's a short avp i did. this is not the official avp, we'll still have a meeting with the MMR team, there i will find out if i'd be assigned to make a new one, pero ito muna for the meantime :)

thursday back to the kids' house. friday morning after reviewing for the last day of exams, i went straight to sm to buy materials for the scrapbook Tita Mel asked us to do. i paid some bills too and had to suffer the horror of the imus traffic once again. grabe it's getting worse by day! unbelievable! D; anyway, allane helped me out a bit til 8'30pm. my mind works better during midnights so wala rin akong nagawang matino :)))) so i stayed up late to finish it (unfortunately i forgot to take a picture of it haynako). saturday, we had our weekly youth fellowship. we finished around 4'30pm, at dali-daling umalis papuntang Araneta for Saved Festival 2011! traffic was heavy along edsa so we were an hour late and didn't catch Gary V on stage :( we arrived just 2 songs before Quest finished. there's also Jodi King, Sideshow Band, Ptr. Steve Ruetschle, Martin Smith (wow to his version of Christy Nockels Waiting Here for You), and my new fave, the Parachute Band. man their songs are amazeballs! Living Rain (forever lss na ko dito! living rain, fall again, over my life, and over our land, living rain, wash my heart again... come back, back to your first love, back to the cross. gaaaah such a beautiful song!) Come to the River, Mercy and Glorified. y'all should listen to it! Starfield came in next and im kinda sad they played only 3 songs (one being Revolution so it's not that bad really, but still, i was hoping to hear Unashamed, Can I Stay Here Forever, or My Generation) :( last was Citipointe Live, but just as they started singing, we left already :( we stopped by Bluwave to have late dinner at kfc and then we went home. i love every bit of this night! :) new songs! new hallelujah! <3

sunday we had our youth lalaan team building at tagaytay. around 5pm tapos na so we attended the last service in church. at sa wakas umuwi na at bumawi ng tulog! :D:D:D

This month, the spotlight is on Judah Paolo, model/actor/host & Earl Beja, media consultant turned full-time-mom. Judah and Earl had each spent decades exploring different belief systems and philosophies, searching for meaning, truth and purpose.
One day, they found each other… and the True Love of their lives.

How did you two meet and how did your love story begin?

Earl: In Oct 2008, I was doing an orientation on transformation at that time and all the participants cancelled, except Judah. So it became a one on one event. The session usually lasts 45 minutes, but we kept talking for 3 hours. I ended giving him my card even though I wasn’t supposed to.

Judah: Except I lost it. I found it again in the middle of my living room floor on Dec 24, and I texted her, “Merry Christmas. Do you remember me?”

Earl: Of course I remembered! I was actually reading a book titled “Captivating” in Victory church bookstore, passage was about how a man knows his woman,” bone of his bone, flesh of his flesh”. .. that was almost Christmas eve. Over the next 7 days, we continued our deep conversation about faith, life, purpose and who Jesus is to me- all these just thru text. Then we finally arranged to meet up for tea.

Judah: January 1, 2009,new year! We both came from out of town getaways (sort of year ending soul search). We agreed to meet at her condo. Side note- she asked me to bring water since she ran out, so how are we supposed to have tea when there’s no water! Thus,I came with water-my first gift! When she opened the door, it felt like I was coming home. We talked till sunrise, and again the day after. At some point on the second night, I had this strange feeling of remembrance, something so familiar. I told her, “I feel like we’ve been through this before. Are you ready to do this again?” So, it’s like after 9 hours of talking-honest conversation about real issues about life, baring our soul… we knew.

Earl: Yes, after 9 hours we knew.When he asked me that, I didn’t answer. I simply asked him…”Are you my king?” … there was silence.. (as women of faith, we are of royal blood).He didn’t answer as well… then I knew, he was for me. After that, that’s the only time we talk about basic things like, how old , where we work etc. We pretty much came from the same industry, him entertainment, me- media. Same network- never met!

Judah: The next day, Sunday we went to church together.We both been going to the same church, yet our path never crossed. After a blessing from our pastor, we went to Sonya’s garden. It was quite surreal. We barely talked, just being with each other over dinner. We just sat together, in peace and in awe.After, we were in this gazebo, something so compelling came over me.. I told her, “I want to marry you.”

Earl: And I just said, “Yes.” And for the first time we held hands and we started crying and we both agreed our life is a prayer. It was quite unnatural, yet that’s what happened.

Judah: So much to tell, but moving forward, we were married on October 11, 2009 in Cana,Galilee Israel. That’s where Jesus Christ performed his first miracle, at a wedding! Nine months later, our beautiful daughter Sophia Ophir was born. A holy land baby!

How did your relationship change your lives?

Earl: When we got together, it really jumpstarted our commitment to grow deep in our knowledge and relationship with the Lord.To fix our eyes on HIM. Life of no compromise. Given our background. We were once into eastern mysticism, buddhism, hinduism, positivism, all the other ‘isms’-that isn’t. Not all roads lead into one- there is only ONE WAY…Jesus Christ, both delivered and saved us from all those. We were deceived into vain pursuit of self realization and self mastery- totally wayward from GOD!

Judah: And I was really deep into that that stuff, I thought I was a spiritual mystic, a guru. I had a lot of Christian friends, I’d been attending church but I just couldn’t get it. It was like I couldn’t be saved from hell unless God used someone who had gone through hell too. I meant- who went thru the same path of wandering and wanting to be god ourselves. Totally lost and confused then.

Earl: When we met, I was at my last straw of wrestling with God. To follow in obedience or compromise. By His grace, I finally settled the issue of God and Jesus, I was already being discipled, but still had areas of compromise. I can’t seem to let go of control. It was Judah who called me out on that. After years of searching for God, truth and spirituality, we reached the same conclusion: Everything is in Christ.

Judah: The verses that struck me most; Colossians 2 v8-10: See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete. (NASB)

We now live checking on each other, making sure we’re without compromise in the Faith, keeping our eyes upon Christ, and walking in His truth every moment of every day- All in the mercy of His grace.

random thoughts after reading this:
i never dream of having a prince-sitting-pretty-in-his-castle as partner. i don't want a knight in shining armor. i want a real fighter. with scars, mud, and dirt all over. fighting battles with the King, and going home victorious. one day i shall ask a man a question somewhat similar to Earl's, "Are you my warrior?" ;)

last week we were supposed to have a costume party for halloween but for some reason it got canceled :(

twin & i wanted to dress up as girl versions of Tweedledee & Tweedledum (with hair) or Black Swan's Lily and Nina Swayer! i've never been to any costume parties before e. sayang.

we ended up having our usual bonding: non-stop kwentuhan, foodtrip, played cards (with all those corny but fun consequences haha), and (because it's only a few hours away from nov.1) watched a horror movie. i was the only one screaming! hahaha. (complete set of photos here)

and just last sunday, the youth core and cc's had an overnight bonding and i couldn't find the words to say how amazing that night was. it's overwhelming. the Lord really has perfect timing and He used this group to remind me of things i've somehow forgotten, of lessons He has been teaching me all this time but pride wont let me listen.

each one of us shared different stories of how we're doing these past few days, tears here and there, sealed it with prayer and Spirit-filled worship. we did that til the wee hours of the morning. i love how i can freely let out all my kept emotions to them. sometimes you just have to let your guard down, stop pretending you can handle it all, and be totally honest. only then will God do the fixing. He used these angels to speak tome that night :) i dont know how im going to write about everything, so let's just leave it at that. haha.

i enjoy the company of both groups but i admit i spend more time with the latter. and it makes me hope all the more of one day having prayer & worship time and never ending conversations of the move of God in our lives with the HS buddies :)

im gonna give you a heads up: magulo itong entry na to! hahaha.
(i couldnt even think of a good title! O_O")

i just got my laptop back and im sooooo happy right now! ;)
a few days ago i was about to go on a movie marathon, and when i opened it, it started flickering, and then the screen went blank! i panicked and i tried fixing it but it didnt work. i researched on what could be the cause, and came up with the conclusion of a worn out backlight bulb. which turned out to be a wrong diagnosis. haha. i brought it to a laptop repair shop and they tested it out with an external monitor and it's working. i had to leave it there so the technician could check. they tried changing the LCD but it's still blank. checked the flex cable, same result. so they asked me if id allow them to open the board, which isnt really advisable coz it could lead to a total blackout, which means i have the slightest chance to use it again. i was worried because i couldnt afford to buy a new one and it's a gift from mom before she left kaya lagot talaga ako. i prayed for it but i admit i still cant help but think about what'll happen and what will i do in case mag give up na talaga si laftaf hahaha. after days without report, they called to say it's already working! something about a shorted-circuited capacitor. 'sorry for worrying too much and thank You thank You thank You!' was all i could say that time hehehe :)
now time for some updates!

*almost a month ago, i applied for a job somewhere in Makati, and i had to stay there til 2am for the final interview. unbelievable! and unfortunately, i didnt get called back the next day. i wasnt sad naman, just a little upset because i had to turn down another job interview sched for a position i really like (but the location's too far) coz they wont resched and it's on the same day. im trying to be a good daughter now so i stopped sending out applications na. hahaha. and then some weeks ago, my tita and i were talking about my kid cousin's performance in school, and she said she wants to get a tutor for him and i volunteered myself! :) i'll probably start after sembreak! so excited! i used to baby sit this kid when he was younger ;)

*ive been spending a lot of time with my youth family these past weeks. i still miss saturday youth fellowships but at least i get to spend time with some of my co-leaders during weekdays, kasi sembreak nila. they meet up almost everyday and i couldnt join them all the time coz ive no budget so theyd go here sometimes and we go on non-stop movie & food tripping. come november im sure they'll get back to being busy with school kaya sinusulit na lang :)

*last sunday, 16th, our Lexie Grey celebrated her 1st birthday! she's growing up so fast mygoodness i cant wait til she becomes a toddler! :D:D:D it's also her christening, and twin & i were godmothers! my 2nd godchild, yay! relatives from Bataan came and it was sort of a get together after not seeing each other for a long time.

*i finished reading Melissa Marr's WL series (Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity, and Radiant Shadows). the last book was my favorite! and also Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which i honestly didnt like. except for the epilogue. that was the only part i like. why did i read it in the first place? i found out Emma Watson stars in its movie adaptation! hehe. (she plays Sam & Private Practice's Kate Walsh plays Charlie's mother!) im planning to read The Virgin Suicides next, i dont know if it's any good, i just randomly picked it from someone's book list over tumblr. haha.

*im hooked to The X Factor USA! im so attached with it there's even this one episode that got me crying. hahaha. and these are my bets from the very beginning and im glad they made it through to the stage performance round!

*i dont use my vintage necklaces anymore so i decided to sell them. for only one reason: i want to buy front seat ticket to the Peter Pan theatrical play and see Sam Concepcion up close with my friend Sarrah. i dont wanna watch alone and she's my only sammylove buddy so we talked about saving up for it. it's not that expensive, but she's just a student, and im a bum, kaya alam mo na. haha. but then after i got the money, i thought, hindi praktikal to. 1700 for one night? hindi naman ako super fanatic, super crush ko lang sya hahaha so i said no to PP na :( and Sarrah couldnt watch too, so it's okay. but we still get sad everytime we talk about it. haynako. haha. i bought na lang a new cardigan and a pair of shoes from that savings. hehe. here's a picture of us last sunday. wala lang. maisingit lang :))))

i got Dana Candler's Deep Unto Deep as a belated birthday gift from a friend a month and a half ago. i've read it before (borrowed from another friend) but she must've noticed how much i wanted to have my own copy. hehe :)
i decided to re-read it again last night and resolved to do one chapter a day. (i have this disease/itch kasi of finishing a book in one day or else i'll dream about its characters and even make up the next scenes of its story. so when i get back to it, wala na, confused na ako. no kidding!) but with these kind of books, nakakaya naman yang labanan :P (like Joshua Harris & Max Lucado's) because i have to really absorb & reflect on every bit of it, kasi ang sarap lang namnamin ;)

i just want to share with you one of the poems she has written there that i absolutely love. the very words i needed to hear (read) at that time.

i am always asked why i've no boyfriend and they dont believe that i simply lack interest of a boy/girl relationship. i dont know why they find it so hard to believe that im a woman of too many dreams and this isnt on top of my list as of now. im not closing my doors, just so we're clear. my feelings get stirred up every once in a while, of course, like all the other girls, but i choose to not dwell on them for too long and surrender them to the Lover of all lovers.
im a mess. im not that young anymore but i admit im still in the process of getting to know myself. im complicated like that :))))) how do i even commit to another human being (OA haha) if i havent figured out what i really want, who i am, my attitudes, goals, etc. i have to sort myself out first. does that make any sense?
i've learned that there is no other way to do it than to cling to my Maker. as i know more about Him, i discover more about me too. i found my identity in and through Him, and from then on i havent stopped 'searching'. will it ever end? i think so. we all have limits. plus, im sure there are me-things i wont ever find out without that 'better half'.
a day will come when i can finally tell myself "GO na, you're ready!" and i'll inform you when i get there ;)
soon it wont just be Him who i'll be calling the 'swayer of my heart' :P #cheeseballs

i have nothing to talk about these days because i rarely go out of the house.
same issue: kachings! hahaha
so... let me spill the beans.
im a comsci graduate and there are a lot of job opportunities for me out there (they're all over jobstreet). but i am not allowed to work. why?
we're leaving the country next year.
im a little hesitant to share this too early coz some said i might 'jinx' it, but i dont believe in those shiz. i've been praying about this for a long time now. i remember a church leader saying, you know it's God's will for you (to leave) if 1. nothing goes against His Word & 2. you have peace about it. i have YES as answers to both.
i still have A LOT to fix and do while im here. wala pa kami dun sa stage na may naka set ng date ng alis. we havent even started with the papers/files/blahs yet hahaha but we often talk about it.
k so going back, we'll be applying for dependent child visa. and mom told us, since we're over 18, that it wont be easy. and she was advised that children who are full time students at the time of application are more likely to get approved compared to those already working (employed). kasi employees are sort of dependent to the government, dahil sa tax, but FTS are completely dependent with the parents because of the tuition fees and all other expenses, like a minor. im not sure if i have all the information right, but you get my point! hahaha. that's why i always tweet about 'looking for no tax jobs' which, from twin & i's experience is soooo hard to find! kaya lately we've been trying to apply on some home-based tutoring jobs and asking family friends who have their own businesses if they need extra people, kahit assistant lang or whatever. hehe temporary lang naman e. we just want to earn our own money coz mom & the big sis are both saving up for far more important things and we cant just ask them every time we need to go out you know.
regarding the FTS matter, we enrolled in a school/learning center in Bacoor, autocad 2012 full course, and we already started our first lesson last saturday. two friends told me it's something i can learn naman by myself. but the thing is, we need the certificate as proof (along with the fees/receipts) that we are currently studying. kung short term course lang din, i would take Baking & Pastry, inspired by Callum of Masterchef syempre hahaha. but the course should be related to the degree i finished daw, kaya ayan. it'll be for 9 saturdays only (s'why i wont be around for our youth fellowships til Nov.12 *frowns*) from 10am to 7pm. after that, we'd be taking up another course. graphic arts or animation, o kaya computer hardware servicing, i havent decided yet. basta that's how we'll roll for the rest of our stay here. mag aaral ng iba't ibang course hanggang sa maging okay na lahat ng papeles (oo, 'papeles' talaga! haha) at makaipon na. we're not sure of the exact month we'll leave (and if it'd really push through next year, we all know life's full or surprises hehe). butwe're leaving for sure, and for good.
you see now why from monday to friday, i do the same things: sleep, eat, watch movies, go online, talk with friends and family, read, read, read, read and read! nitong nakaraan, i've watched Friends with Benefits, How to Keep my Love, A Nightmare on Elm Street (again), American History X, Just Like Heaven (this one too ive seen before), Letters to Juliet, Soul Surfer (for 5 times omg haha), Source Code, The Cove, The Hangover, and The Tourist. and i finish these books in one sitting, syempre one book a day, hello, im no robot, haha : Water For Elephants, One Day, Looking for Alaska, and Wicked Lovely. tomorrow i shall start with Ink Exchange. (i never liked fairies but i must admit i liked WL hehe). when im not in the mood to do any of that, i think about the future. naks. joke lang! :))))))) no problem with all these naman, im getting used to & loving the bum life :P just a little sad when friends invite me to hang out, of course you need a little cash for food, transpo, etc. so i have to turn em down :|
but despite all these shallow dramas, haha, there are so many things to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to.
--- the big sis is doing really okay na. she had me & my sisters a little worried a few weeks ago, but thank God she's back on track! ;)
--- God's words are becoming more and more alive & speaking straight through my heart's core (OA) each day. ang sarap lang! :")
--- mom showed us picture updates of our house in oz. and she made us choose, again, which textiles, furniture, etc. we want in our room. this time in IKEA. naging hobby na namin magtingin tingin ng kung ano ano sa iba't ibang store pag magkakachat kami hahaha and it just makes us more excited! hereyago:

puro wood & bricks pa lang naman, madali lang talaga akong maexcite! :))))))

i've always wanted to be an interior designer so nagfifeeling talaga ako sa pagpili. twin & i are sharing one room and we have totally different taste. oh the chaos! haha. i want it cozy, black & white & gray ang colors, tapos zen type lang. she wants it bright and colorful. mygoodness! haha.

i cant believe this! we've prayed for this, yes, but seeing it really happening is just gaaaah! God leaves me breathless! i'll be forever in awe of His faithfulness, His extravagant and uncondtional love for us. sobra lang. sobra sobra. and the joy that i have right now is irrepressible! hindi lang dito but in all aspects of my life! :)

*i got my first ever hair color from a salon somewhere in Silang. and i got the side-swept bangs back. i didn't let kuya (or should i say ate) cut the rest of my hair, though he insisted, because i wanted to grow it really long this time.

i love this quote because (1) i never let a day pass without saying 'im bored' so this hit me hard, (2) im an overthinker and i've proven that the mind goes on forever inwardly (3) something inside me says this is only partially true.

why? i wont argue with the last sentence that the fact that im alive is amazing, no doubt about that. but i think that is out of line with me being bored. but emphasizing the great, big, vast world that i've seen none percent of, is just plain frustrating. haha. that is why im bored! i wanna travel, i wanna do things i havent done before, i wanna put an end to all the [over]thinking & dreaming and put them into actions! pero syempre may limits e. so for now, okay lang mainip. haha. at sa totoo lang, marami naman talagang pwedeng gawin kahit naka 'house arrest' e :))))) i can read all i want, i can watch movies/series, i can practice on Hunter, i can sleep all day, but this week im just too lazy to do all that. what is wrong with me, i dont know. kaya even if it's a useless thing to say, buong lakas kong sasabihing, IM BORED. thus, this nonsense post. hahaha. without the avp assignment, the chat with mom, big sis & some friends abroad, im motionless straight face i've spent most of my hours literally doing nothing. just staring blankly into space. thinking... about thinking. hahahaha. i dont know what's gotten into me but i hope next week this lazy syndrome would get outta my system :))))))

ANYWAYYYYYY, in other news,(biglang iniba haha labo) last weekend i had so much fun with my Santos fambam and the youth girls! Morning, we attended the baptism of my cousin's baby boy XaneJay. he's my very first inaanak and im not quite happy about it, poor kid, kuripot ng ninang! :))))) just kidding! as usual we were laughing so hard all morning, we dont hang out often these past few days so we kinda missed each other hehe

1pm we left for church to watch the anniversary special dance play. (entitled Turning Point based on the story of the prodigal son). the dance ministry beauties are jaw-dropping! haha. the lights & sounds were lovely! and the soul harvest was overwhelming! that includes Ted, my bestcousin. i couldn't stop thanking the Lord for the move of the Holy Spirit that day :)

after the play, we went straight to Hannah's place for Allane's birthday celebration. Conversation with Ate Joan and some of the girls was my favorite part. ewan ko na kung san san napunta ang usapan, umalis lang ako sandali, from college life, to politics, to music, to other stuff, biglang naging Meteor Garden! angyare?!?! hahaha.

we took a lot of vanity pictures, lead by the ever so hyper trio we call the Makeup Girls (MG) :P we went home around 9pm i think coz they have work and school the next day :)

and eek i almost forgot, our church also celebrated its 21st anniversary! (the said dance play was the last event of the week long celebration) with the theme I BELIEVE.. in God, in our vision, in our leaders.

i've been here for years now but watching these committed people during the revival night & the two different special plays still amazes me! such talented and devoted people! no wonder God continuously bring favor and blessing to them all and to this church! :) i recorded the Guitar Ensemble and Rea's part (coz i adore her voice hehe) during the RN but i haven't uploaded it yet. i'll update this with the link some other day :)

i got the chance to reunite with long time no see friends during this week and yes i finally have a picture with my new girlfriend Nikki and her equally pretty sister Nadine :)

yesterday i accompanied Ted in her job interview somewhere in Pasig. her appointment is scheduled at 11am and we arrived there 45mins late because we got a little lost from Megamall searching for the Strata 2000 bldg. ang hirap talaga nung sagot na 'sa likod lang nito, pag liko mo, ayun na'. yun pala sa likod e ang daming likuan! at ang daming exit ng mall kaya saan bang likod, pakiexplain! :))))))

fortunately the people there were kind hearted so she still got interviewed just before they all went on a lunch break. we went back to MM, had lunch at kfc (it's my fave fastfood chain back in college haha) and then headed to divisoria. we bought cute tiny clothes for our baby Greyham, and some other things. Justin was around the area so he went there too. it was tiring but fun. 168 has grown so huge! i havent seen the extension before! grabe. kung marami lang akong pera, ang dami kong nabili sa dami ng magagandang damit! uset, ang babaeng ukay, bow. :))))))

i was 2 hours late for the youth band practice but Chuchay was okay with it hehe we went home around 9'30 and i was exhausted! maybe because of Manila's heat & traffic [it still hasnt changed! (infairness ha, i missed ParkNRide :P)] plus the long walks around mm and dv. but we still managed to make this video before we sleep. haha.

if you're a follower over twitter, you would've noticed how often i RT tweets by @LoveIsLouder and sometimes post my own tweets with the #loveislouder hashtag. now what is this LIL all about?
i paid Seventeen.com a visit a few months back and found out about this campaign/movement started by MTV, Brittany Snow and The Jed Foundation, and then eventually, Seventeen magazine's newest contributing editor, Demi Lovato, (whom i dearly adore hehe) joined in.

" the movement is raising the volume around a critical message - -- that love and support is more powerful than the external and internal voices that bring us down, cause us pain and make us feel hopeless."

i've had my fair share of insecurities & low self-esteem issues before. i think we all went through that phase when what the people around us say matters more than anything else in the world, so we try to fit in, and do what everyone else is doing; we follow the trend when it comes to fashion kahit hindi naman bagay, we compare ourselves with others (minsan with celebrities pa) and try our hardest to look, act, & speak exactly like them, some do drugs & alcohol, some get in relationships just for the sake of not feeling left out, join fraternities and sororities (seriously, what are these groups for? ano pa man dahilan nila, i would always say these F's & S's are for the weak, as opposed to what others say.), some completely give up and attempt suicide, etc.
kaya it's great that LIL exists, along with all the other movements that remind us, we are never alone when it comes to these kind of struggles. there's always the Bible to tell us our identity is found in God because He is our Maker, it tells us we are unique and set apart, and we should never allow the earthly things eat up the BEAUTY He has given us, inside out. but i agree with Victoria Osteen when she said "it's human nature to try to make sense of all the negative and hurtful comments we receive from people or to try to convince ourselves that these words are not true". so reading these encouraging words from LIL supporters all over the globe is really of great help, lalo na ngayon na ang laking part na ng cyberspace in spreading the news esp. to the youth.
aside from the tweets and the discussions on their facebook page, you can also lend a voice to the LIL movement by uploading your own Love is Louder photo, which im about to do right now. haha.

ASIAFEST 20ELEVEN

ASIAFEST 2011 finally happened!
day 1 i was at church by 8am. the asiafest staff orientation started around 10am.
i, along with Jelly, from the ASCM team, were assigned to the info booth, but i ended up helping out the ushers. hehe
we were given our shirts, white for the first day and black for the second.
we have free meals for lunch & dinner.
i admit, among all the other staff, i was the most relaxed. dali lang ng trabaho ko e :P so i volunteered with other available 'posts' and i took pictures and videos too.
the ASCM P&W team and Phil Stacey led the worship night, pastor Tom Madden shared the message. i dont remember what his session is about, maybe we were staying in the lobby at that time.
day 1 went by so fast! program started at 4 and ended at 9 and the sanctuary was just half-filled but still the Lord's awesome presence was there! :)

day 2 was jam packed!
we were told of some key concerns about our posts before the registration started. our very own COG P&W team led the morning worship service. AMAZING! i felt His warm embrace right then and there. "brace yourself!" i was reminded :)
mr. Craig Mosgrove's session came in next with the topic REVERSE THE CURSE.
when people say 'you'll never amount to anything', reverse that curse and claim that the Lord will use you even at a very young age. insecurities, porn addictions, low self-esteem, discouragements, empowering this generation for the next generation, dun umikot yung message nya.
next the delegates were given a break. Teen Talent Asia participants prepared for their different performances. people added up when the program continued. this year's TTA contestants are all very creative and good! plus we have representatives from our church which resulted to extreme audience impact (OA) hahaha. but seriously, Marchie, Catalyst & iSWAG did a really good job (no bias here)! they were my favorite!
Quest, miss Bam from ASCM, and a dude i forgot his name from U.P were the judges. and for the third time, Jordan, a dj from a christian radio station, was the host. all in all, this portion was very entertaining!
next is the longest 3 hours of the delegates life i think! O_O" three hours ang break, we had to empty the church of all of them and some other people staying in the building, pero sa kagustuhan ng karamihan na sa unahan umupo, as soon as they got out, pumila na agad sila O_O" unbelievable! during that break, we the staff, had the chance to rest, and watch Quest & Planetshakers do their soundcheck, separately a. hindi kami makapaniwala this is really happening. PS sa harap namin. nagssoundcheck. hellooooo O____O" ahahaha of course we had to contain ourselves because we were ordered not to make any noise. our hearts welled up with excitement! :P we also planned on how we'll lead all the delegates back to the seats once the doors are opened and prevent the unwanted commotions. we expected their number will be doubled (coz it's the night PS will be playing) and we were right! the balcony and the ground floor itself swarmed with soooo many people! and thank God it wasnt that chaotic when they got inside the sanct. the program commenced again around 6'30pm, and there i believed the outpour of the spirit begun. our church's p&w team led the worship again. i honestly forgot i was supposed to usher to some people na dumarating pa lang! haha. i enjoyed the worship too much. and then Quest was next. man, he's on fire for Jesus! amazing amazing amazing! i was so inspired and i cant help but pray at that moment that his fire, his passion, e mapasa sa lahat ng youth na nakikinig sa kanya nung oras na yun. his message for us is, dont just speak Jesus, LIVE Jesus. you dont have to say 'im a follower of Jesus, i love Him, i know Him' blah blah all that sort of things. let other people, when they see you, instantly say, 'wow, this man loves Jesus.' at hindi lang yun, by just looking at your lives, they will WANT Jesus :') you dont even have to open your mouth. you be His reflector!

and of course, the much-awaited worship night with the PLANETSHAKERS. mygoodness! we were overflowing with the Spirit! their list: Nothing is Impossible, This Love, Get Up, Even Greater, Like A Fire, Jump Around. im not sure kung yan na lahat, basta that's what i can recall. we were more like praying than singing, well at least that's how i felt it. every lyrics, every words, came to life!
mr. Neil, their manager, gave us a message about how powerful prayer is. WHAT ARE YOU ASKING FOR? salvation for the people you love? pray for them. and ask with a greater measure. dont settle with just enough when you can pray for a bigger number, in your classroom, workplace, in your family, in your city, in your nation. WHO ARE YOU STANDING WITH? none other than Jesus. it's time to receive what you've been praying for all your life. dont stop asking. prayer is powerful. dont hold back anymore. pray with a greater measure! what are you asking for? who are you standing it? ask yourself these questions repeatedly and remember, again and again, prayer is powerful. and then he started leading us to pray for healing. God gave our friend Hannah a vision about this, and it did happen! He never disappoints us! people were healed we claimed it. and then he asked for every youth leaders to come forward and then we started again praying for them (us). he said it's time for our generation to have a breakthrough every youth service! pray with even greater measure. if one saturday service, walang breakthrough, puruse even harder the next saturday. until every saturday, every youth service, there will be a breakthrough. hindi lang one time event, but EVERY youth service there will be an outpour! doubts started swirling in my mind. no, this is just too much to ask. but his question rang repeatedly, who are you standing with? and then we started praying for financial provisions, for our families, ourselves, for all ministries, and most importantly for the GenBless building! prayer is powerful. prayer is powerful.
and then planetshakers came out again and we all sang along these words,
"we cry out for this nation, we cry out for this land, fill us now with your power, send revival, send revival!"

i dont wanna stop singing! i wanna stay in that moment forever. :') the Lord moved. He moved. just as He promised. and im overwhelmed :')
after that, ayun na, nagwala na kami ng todo :))))) they were back with their upbeat songs.
non-stop jumping and singing na naman. the perks of being staff is that we get to be in front! as in we're an arm away from them! like omg omg omggggggg! :)))))) if someone took a video of me during that time, i'd put the caption OZ GONE CRAZY :))))) i was literally whippin my hair back and forth! i was beside my friends Chuchay, Cess, Sep, Shereen, Cindy, Justin & Jules, who are equally crazy so what do you expect! hahaha. hanggang ngayon, masakit pa rin ang katawan ko, my neck's stiff and my arm & leg muscles are feelin really heavvyyyyy! (i left my cam with Kuya Arnel so i have pictures of them during the WN without all the hassle. thank you so much Kuya A! ;]) but duuuuude, IT'S ALL WORTH IT! sabi nga ni Pastor Scott when he met with us before going home, 'it's tiring, it's exhausting, but because of the move of the Spirit of God, it's all worth it, right?' and everyone agreed :) <3
TTA winners were announced after, tapos people who bought PS's album had the chance to take a picture with them plus get their albums signed :) luckybeaaannns! sadly, we staff dont have a picture with them, pero okay lang naman :) im sure they'll come back, or, kami naman pupuntang Melbourne to visit their church. eeeeeeeep! ;)

My Kind of Fun

i turned 21 last July 6. i always say im not the type who parties and all that shiz so i didnt have a big celebration whatsoever. (feeling ko kasi dapat bongga kasi 21st birthday, wala lang #arte haha). on that exact day, both my sisters weren't home, school and work, so i went out with two of my friends, Aya & Sey. we met up at moa, had lunch at kfc, watched Temptation Island (i didnt like it :( and i wont recommend it. nadala ako masyado sa kagandahan nila kasi, haha. alam ko namang typical yung story. eeee :| ), did a little window shopping, and grabbed a quick merienda at krispy kreme. ang cute nila, we were at KK eating, and Sey said they need to fix the problem he & Aya are having for a week or two now, so i said okay, but you can talk it out here, i wont listen. haha. they insist on leaving so i let them. i actually didnt want to, it's my day kaya gusto ko isantabi muna lovelife e ahaha but they put on their sad puppy faces, alam mo yun? hahahaha anyway, Aya came back after 25 mins, i think, still looking sad so i dint say anything and just let her talk. we went out to find Sey and taduh! they bought this cute sansrival cake for me. surprise surprise. with twin's & my name on it! ang babaw ko lang! ang saya ko na ng ganun. best actor & actress! WIN! :)))))

we left ze mall around 5'30pm coz we have a youth workers anointing service for the Asiafest and Aya has a medical ministry fellowship to attend to. we both made it just in time. i felt really blessed when they (youth leaders) prayed for me before we ended :')

i had to leave with Aya immediately after coz we arranged a biglaang bonding with the rest of our HS buds.

i honestly didnt like this particular night for so many reasons (i wont share it here hehe). i went home really really really sad but still very thankful for what God has taught & imparted to me through the lives of these friends. im 21 and i still have these same set of friends since gradeschool! a lot has changed already but we still stick with each other and i believe it's not without a purpose, esp. now that i am living a totally different life from them. i was a little too emotional that night (PMS siguro haha). i was both happy and sad at the end of the day. not bad. not bad at all :)

yesterday, july 10, i went out with my little sister, cousin, twin & his boyfriend. post birthday celeb kuno. right after the sunday service, we went straight to atc, had dinner at Giligan's, dessert at DQ, watched Monte Carlo and midnight chill at starbucks. family love <3

Spontaneity At Its Best

a month ago, i told my cousins Steff & Colette i wanna go to Miley Cyrus's concert. they're game for anything, anytime, so it's a go! and we decided we're just gonna sit outside the concert grounds, eat out and listen to MC live, no need to buy tickets. but then i had to back out this week kasi wala akong pera pang kain! :))) and the youth team building is happening this sunday so i figured we might have a meeting or whatever.
june 17, i spent the morning cleaning the entire house while the sisters sleep. afternoon i went to the mall to buy something and was supposed to meet up with an old high school friend but his class went overtime so i rushed back home and he just dropped by to pay for the Asiafest tickets. i was sitting in my favorite comfy sofa, waiting for my co-youth leaders, when twin texted me about our friend who's selling his Gold A MC tickets. he called me up 3 days ago regarding this, but i declined kasi i cant afford to pay 4500 worth of ticket no! but twin said i can pay after a month daw! that's when i started freaking out! it's almost 7, it's FRIDAY, Bacoor traffic/rush hour is expected, so papaano pa kong hahabol?!?!?! and then he called me through my cell, insisting that i should go, price is down to 3500, and he's willing to give me 2 months to complete the payment! OHMYGOODNESS SERIOUSLY?!?! i screamed and said OKAY OKAY IM GOING! and dropped the call. i immediately grabbed the shirt i first saw on the closet, put on a necklace, wore jeans and sneaks, put my hair in an onion bun, grabbed my cam, umbrella, wallet and put everything inside the bag! it took me less than 10mins i guess! i was THAT excited! ahahahaha. i texted my co YLs and apologized that i have to go and i wont be with them tonight. and i do hope they understand! hahaha i left home at exactly 7pm and had to wait for a bus going to Baclaran for 10mins! :O i looked like a mess so i spent the one hour travel doing magic on my eyes just so it wouldnt be obvious na madaling madali ako sa biglaang lakad na ito! hahaha. i took a cab from Baclaran to MOA (and i promise to pay the transpo expenses to mom :P) and meet with the guy friend for the ticket! we were literally running because the people were screaming so loud i knew Miley's on stage already! D: the security guard on the gate checked my bag and saw my camera and said dslr cams are not allowed inside! the guy friend left na so i had no one to leave it with! i was stuck there telling them that im watching alone so i cant not bring the camera with me but they wont let me in! so i texted the guy friend and begged him to come back to keep the camera for me. he's staying backstage all night with his girl (kainggit no?!) so i thought the guards wont mind. and he did came back! i plead him to take lots and lots of pictures for me kasi it'll be the only proof that i've been there! hahaha. my phone batt's almost empty so i cant take a picture with it. loser much! i was ushered to my seat just in time for PARTY IN THE U.S.A woohooo talk about perfect timing! hahaha. i admit i dont know most of her songs, kasi it's from her newest album, 5 songs lang ang alam ko! ahahaha. pero it didnt stop me from screaming and singing! hello, it's MILEY! the girl i super duper crush because of her great personality, her fashion sense, her WOWing beauty and of course her HAIR! OMG i think she has the softest locks in the world! and it looks like it smells fruity i wanna rush to the stage, cut even just the edge and take it home! ahahahaha.
she has such a powerful voice! and that's just one of the many things i love about her! galing mag live! parang hindi napapagod, with matching headbang and dance moves pa mygoodness! i wasnt really that close to the stage compared to the VIPs and above, pero okay na okay lang sakin, kasi Gen. Ad nga lang balak kong bilhin noon e ahahahaha. it was super fun! but i think i'd be a lot happier if i have someone to scream and sing with! :| at kung nakahabol ako sa performance ni Sam Concepcion T____T (speaking of Sam, i bumped into a churchmate, Sara, who's a Sam fan to, and she told me about him walking right in front of her! KAINGGIT! when i got home and freshened up, i went online and we chatted over ym about it! hahaha she's such a sweetheart! sayang we dint take a picture together!)
i met up with my Tita who accompanied her daughter (my hannah montana bud) after the concert at naki ride ako sa kanila paguwi, and brought along the peeps who gave me the tickets :) i will forever thank them for this! ;)

this is something ive been praying for for a very loooong time! i dont know anything about photography and film making, and i suck at art. but it's something i really wanna learn! the 'desire' started when i met Sir Harvey Tapan, 5 or 6 years ago. (even if he's a close family friend, i always call him Sir Harvs because i consider him my teacher! haha. he's the son of a well-known Filipino Travel Photographer, Sir George Tapan. and he's a T.P himself. that time, tumblr isnt mainstream yet so i drool mostly on his shots haha. he lets me use his camera and teach me basic this and that every time we go out. but then i forget about it after a day or two kasi wala akong sariling cam to pratice on :( i would always tease him and say "sakin na lang yung isa please?" kasi ang DAMI niyang camera. as in! O___O" but it's a solid NO. haha. from then on i never stopped telling my family about how i really really wanted to have my own cam. just so you know, we're not rich. average class lang kami :) kaya hindi aakalaing kakayaning makabili ng ganyang 'luho', as i call it. but still i continued praying for it. (and a little parinig kay mom at Ate haha) i got addicted to tumblr before because of all the awesome photos they post there. and it just burns the 'camera wish' even more! haha. blah blah to make the long story short, haha, the big sister gave me 3/4 of the money i need to buy the cam days after graduation, and the rest was given by my dad just last week. well it was actually from his brother, and it's supposed to be his lang, but he's so generous, he gave us, his kids, half of it! and my sisters agreed on giving theirs to the camera savings too! FAMILY LOVE! :) <3 ayan, unbelievable, may cam na ako! i got really tired from a whole day of walking with my cousin around the mall after buying the cam so i dont think i'll be able to explore it tonight. bukas na lang! :) thank you Lord for this early birthday gift and for touching the hearts of every member of my family! i love them to bits! and words cant express how much i love Youuuu! :D:D:D patience & years of waiting rewarded! :P <3

This is funny.

My birthday is in a few weeks. I should be excited. I am in fact pretty anxious about it. I’m still at that point where I’m trying to shoo the idea that I’m already an adult but by laws of the universe, it prevails that I already am. No complains though, just grateful.

I’ve got this thing fixed up in my head years back that when you get to that real commencement of adulthood – which is pretty subjective to everyone – you are required to have it all “figured out”. I’m pretty sure I don’t have everything figured out just yet and I don’t even know if I’m ever gonna get it all “figured out”, but you see, its real, we live in a world where the pressure’s on us for crying out loud. We live our lives thinking that when you are at this certain age, you should be like this because everyone else is like this and if not, you’re weird. When did “weird” ever did not become a compliment? So yeah, a few years back, I would have panicked at the idea that I don’t have everything figured out. I would have been jittering at the thought that I’m not like everyone else who’s got it all figured out or at least that’s what it looks like from the outset. But right now, I rest my case as a ridiculously awesome individual that I don’t need to have everything figured out for myself rather trust in the truth that God’s got it all figured out for me. That’s He’s job, not mine. And this is not being reckless, this is being in faith.

I remember crying to a friend once inside the bathroom of our own office because I just don’t know what to do with my life anymore. Quarter life crisis can get you that bad. Looking back, I don’t understand myself for doing that, well I do understand I love being dramatic, but what I don’t understand is why I even have to cry over something I know God’s got control of. The problem there folks was, I was tired. I was too caught up with my own works, too caught up with my own efforts, too caught up with figuring it all out for myself whilst completely ignoring that God, even before He formed me, knew all about me and had wonderful plans for me. End of story.

Once upon a time, we’re all like that. We all cried in some random place for something we shouldn’t be crying about anyway because we’re so tired going after something that’s not even for us to go after. The truth is, God’s got it all planned out, from that first word you uttered as a baby, to that coffee that burnt the roof of your mouth this morning or even to this moment where you’re slowly studying every grammatical blunder I committed. He knows every minute that’s going to happen to us. One thing’s true and will remain true, God knows better than we do and whatever plans we have for ourselves, He’s got something better to counteroffer. So grab it. Grab hold of Him and His promises. We don’t need to get worked up, hoping we’d get everything figured out, hoping we’d arrive. No one’s ever gonna arrive by his own works. No one ever did. Even the generals of faith, the great men of the bible, did not arrive because of what they did or what they can do, but what God did for them.

Paul said it best when He wrote to the Corinthians, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.” (you see now one of the reasons i like this note? yes, that verse, which i used for my bio here ;]) So there, for 24 years, I am who I am because of God’s grace – that infinite unmerited grace in my life. Where would I be without Him? I don’t need to get caught up figuring out something that God already figured out for me. So I guess the point I’m getting here is this. I’m given another year, not to tire myself out, but to seriously be awesome by trusting Him and His plans for me. This one more year is a gift and I’m just gonna chill, continue resting in His promises and His truth. He’s got it all figured out and for all I know, I wouldn’t be caught leaving earth exhausted. He’s got it all mapped out. I am a canvass, and the canvass is His.

If you believe God formed you in the palm of His hands, what makes you think the rest of your life is in your own hands?

ASIAFEST is a gathering of young people which seeks to provide the youth life-changing opportunities to encounter God through powerful preaching, anointed worship and music, and enriching fellowship among their peers.

All young people (ages 13- 25), youth leaders, workers, volunteers and pastors are welcome to participate.

ASIAFEST 2011 will be on July 8 (Friday) and 9 (Saturday), 2011 at Church of God Dasmarinas, Aguinaldo Highway, Marilag Subdivision, Dasmarinas City, Cavite, Philippines.

It will start with a Youth Leaders Fellowship on July 8 at 8am and the afternoon registration will start at 4pm.

ASIAFEST 2011 will feature Phil Stacey, American Idol finalist, Tom Madden, Church of God Youth and Discipleship International Director, and Planetshakers, an international Gospel band. Moreover, ASIAFEST will also be having its Youth Leaders Fellowship with Craig Mosgrove and the much awaited Teen Talent Asia Season 3.

i, and some of the peeps from our youth ministry, were blessed to have attended the Asiafest for the last two years. i cant remember how we knew about it on its first year, but i can recall ASCM's (Asian Seminary of Christian Ministries) promotion for Asiafest2010 during the Overflow Youth Conference.

these are mostly faces :)))) we didnt take pictures during the event/activities kasi naman we dont wanna miss anything! it's too... aaahh... i cant find the perfect word to describe it! basta unbelievably moving! (bonus pa kasi dahil dito, i saw my elementary bestfriend! she's studying pala at ascm! we were literally freaking out that time in front of everyone! haha)

'09 they had The Saturn Project and Phil Stacey as guests and last year, Ricardo Sanchez, Reggie Dabbs & Preston Centuolo. i really love how these youth pastors speak with so much impact! im not saying our local speakers dont, they do! (i believe every word that comes from God and shared by His people has impact because of the power of the Holy Spirit) it's just that they have a different approach on it. i noticed that with all the foreign speakers. straight to the point! walang paligoy ligoy! and it's as if they're always looking RIGHT AT YOU! like you're the only person in the room! you know what i mean? i just admire how passionate they are to bring souls of young people to Christ! you can see it in their eyes and especially with their very sincere smiles :)

and this year, (i wouldn't believe it at first) they'll be having Planetshakers! like ohmygooooooshhhhhhh! my favorite worship team ever! hellooo! haha

and what an amazing privilege that our church is part of this year's Asiafest! we aren't just participants, we are actually favored to be part of its preparation, helping out the original hosts, the ASCM team! (more on promotion, kasi youth core naman ang punong abala! haha)
tapos it will be held here pa! 'too much Lord,this is just too much!' i always say. He's doing EVEN GREATER things for the youth of Cavite, of the Philippines, and for the last month i am just really awestruck with everything. and i felt (and still feeling a little) ashamed of myself. i havent given my all. i had been lax. pero at times like these, sobrang laking comfort kapag iniisip ko just how much He loves me, you, us. our brokenness made complete at His feet. and, as Starfield puts it perfectly in their lyrics... "i know im weak, i know im unworthy to call upon Your name, but because of grace, because of Your mercy, i stand here UNASHAMED.." :')

i was in the middle of asking why. why this church, why this ministry, why us, why me? and through Ezekiel 36, He answered twice, 22"It is not for your sake..that I am going to do these things...but for the sake of My holy name...23 I will show the holiness of My great name..then the nation will know that I am the Lord..when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.. " 32" I am not doing this for your sake.."

grabe lang how fast His words are to rebuke me every time negative [selfish] thoughts hit.

and so from now on, i'll have those words buzzing in my head & whispering in my heart..'I am doing this for the sake of My holy name, kid! stop overthinking, get on your feet and come with me!'

i wont make any excuses on why i havent updated this blog for such a long time. kasi WALA LANG talaga ang masasabi ko. haha. im also guilty for the lack of tweetage these past few days because i really dont have anything interesting to share.
so this will be just one of those ohsorandom posts.

*i've been thinking and praying about finally applying for a job. all 3 companies are located in Alabang. i've updated my resume and i can send it anytime. my mom wants me to take a few months more of rest but i insist to do otherwise. ive had too much me-time lately and i realized my wishlist is piling up really fast! they are mostly wants than needs so i cant just ask my parents to buy them for me. and besides, we werent raised as spoiled brats. when we want something, we save up and buy it from our school allowance. the problem is, i dont go schooling anymore! hello. haha. pag may tira sa grocery budget, yun ang pera ko. i dont go out often so that's enough. pero masarap pa rin ng may sariling pera tapos may savings diba? last week, i've made up my mind na this very day, tuesday, i will send na my resume to one of the companies ive been choosing from. but just 2 days ago i was informed i have to make and finish a new video promo for the upcoming youth event in our church (will blog about it next time). you see it's really not hard as it looks like, beginner lang kasi ako so a one or two minute avp takes me one week to finish. longer if i do the contents alone. (alone in a human sense, k?) but since i always get help from my co youth leaders, okay na yung 4 to 5 days. so if i dont get it done early, i think i have to postpone my job app and requirements completion (in case i get the job hehe) next week. i dont have complains whatsoever kasi commintment ko to sa ministry and of course to the Lord and this is what i love to do! kaya okay lang na nabago ulit yung plano. and as my twin sister said, "hindi ka naman mauubusan ng trabaho." oo nga naman. PANIC kasi ako sa dami ng gusto kong bilhin! hahaha : im 7k away from buying Hunter (the camera), i wanna go on an unlimited shopping spree at forever21, zara, topshop, dorothy perkins, and UKAY!, i want new books, i wanna buy new stuff for our house, go to concerts, watch the latest movies in theatres, at kung ano ano pa! (eeew materialistic?yuckme). so one day i was writing about these 'frustrations' on my journal, and as i read the bible i was lead to 2 Cor.4:18 'what we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.' bang. i sank low from where i was sitting and apologized for such a childish mentality. kaya kahit naiisip ko pa rin na wala akong sariling nakatabing pera, smile na lang :) once i get hired and receive my first salary, e di mag splurge ako ng walang humpay! hahaha.
*we werent able to go to the Hillsong United Aftermath Tour as planned coz all tickets were sold out :( :( :(
* i graduated from CLDP2! ang saya kasi i shouldve taken this last year, pero repeater ako ng CLDP1 kaya ayan! haha.
*the youth cc's went on an overnight swimming that same day for the dry run of the youth team building on June 20. it'll be sooooo fun i cant waitttttt! (got the pictures from Chanelle)

*and just this sunday the Lee University Singers came to visit our church and shared God's word through singing. and i must say, my jaws are literally dropped the moment they started! my friends even have pictures with them! envvyyyyyyyy! hahaha. pero sa mga ganung pagkakataon, hindi naman talaga ko sabik magpapapicture (palusot), dun lang sa isa na sobrang crush ko! the hallway was clear, i was waiting outside the conference room for the others, and she walked right in front of me and said HELLLOORRR! (may accent e haha) i was beyond stunned so i had my eyes glued on her face and i only replied a very soft Hiiiiiiii back. i cant believe i dint ask her to take a picture with me T____T

*i recently bought a new cover for my bible, a dev. book and a cutesy notebook! wala lang. ang babaw. haha

*yesterday i visited my niece Grey and was so surprised on how big she is now! at, nagsasaglita na sya! and she uses her walker na! super hyper! here's a picture i took from my phone before i left. such a sweet & adorable kid!

there you go! imuna start with the avp and promise to post it here (along with the details! ;]) when it's done! i hope we'll finish it asap so we can finally promote to other churches & schools and invite them! im excited even if this means i'll grow huge eyebags again for all the busy days ahead kasi this just shows how great God is in my life! im not even worthy to be part of His ministry, but He wont let me quit. (i've tried many times before hehe). unlimited grace & stubborn reckless love <3
